As one of the most mature and innovative cultured meat companies in the world, we have already achieved regulatory approval and are now scaling rapidly. We bring together science, engineering, and culinary design to create sustainable, irresistible food for billions of people. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our mission-led team as we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the food industry.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Food Research Scientist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a mid-level position based in Australia, operating in a hybrid work environment. You will be responsible for driving research that allows us to control the texture, flavor, and overall appeal of our cultured meat.
What will you do?
- Lead early-stage research to build foundational knowledge in ingredients, formulation science, and processing technologies with a specific focus on textured meat products.
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of biologists, engineers, and culinary experts to innovate and develop new product concepts.
- Design and execute experiments to validate new processing methods and functional ingredients, ensuring our products meet the highest standards for taste and texture.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in food science and a passion for innovation. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant field, such as Materials Science or Food Science, with a master's or PhD preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in food science research and development, whether in an academic or industrial setting.
- Deep knowledge of food chemistry, texture modification, and sensory analysis, along with proficiency in experimental design and data analysis.
- A proven track record of solving complex problems and a commitment to driving positive change within the food industry.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Fluency in English.
