Flavor Scientist at Juul Labs

We are looking for a Flavor Scientist to join our team in the United States to help us tackle one of the most significant challenges in our industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine novel formulations by applying your expertise in flavor ingredients.
• Compound flavors and e-liquids for rigorous testing and evaluation.
• Meet specific development goals and milestones to support our product pipeline.
• Provide technical flavor support and guidance to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with regulatory and stewardship colleagues to ensure all raw materials meet our quality requirements.
• Optimize product performance through close cooperation with internal teams.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to leadership.
• Adopt new analytical methodologies as our product characterization needs evolve.
• Manage ingredient inventories and ensure laboratory equipment remains in excellent working order.
• Maintain accurate and detailed formula records and documentation.

Must-haves

• A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in chemistry, biology, food science, or a related field.
• Three to five years of relevant industry experience with a solid grasp of flavor ingredients.
• Proven hands-on experience compounding flavor ingredients at the bench.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail regarding record keeping and documentation, specifically adhering to ALCOA practices.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with chromatographic techniques and instrumentation.
• Background in formulations chemistry and stability testing methods.
• Previous experience working within a regulated or tobacco industry environment.

Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 to $175,000.00 USD.
