At Carbon Robotics we are redefining weed control with the LaserWeeder, an autonomous implement that pairs computer vision and advanced AI to eliminate weeds with millimeter precision. Designed in Seattle and built in Detroit, our technology gives growers reliable, chemical-free weed management even when labor is scarce and input costs keep rising. We are a mission-driven team that values decisive action, independent thinking, and the chance to tackle meaningful problems in the global food supply.
About the Role
We are hiring a Field Trials Specialist on a full-time, on-site basis. In this senior-level position you will design and run field evaluations that measure how the LaserWeeder performs on real farms, translate the findings into clear cost-benefit insights, and supply the sales team with data that helps growers make confident adoption decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute on-farm trials, gathering detailed performance, operational, and economic data that show the LaserWeeder’s impact on labor, yield, and chemical use.
- Build financial models and cost-benefit analyses that quantify return on investment and highlight opportunities for product improvement.
- Produce concise reports and presentations, then collaborate with sales, engineering, and agronomy teams to turn findings into actionable recommendations for current and prospective customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in plant sciences, agricultural science, agricultural economics, agricultural business, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Hands-on familiarity with farm machinery, precision-agriculture tools, and agricultural technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and financial information to varied audiences.
- Proficiency in data-analysis tools such as Excel and statistical software.
- Experience conducting cost-effectiveness studies or financial modeling in an agricultural context is a plus.
- Comfort working independently or as part of a cross-functional team and traveling extensively to farms.
Location
This role is based in the United States and requires frequent travel-up to 90 percent of work time-to customer sites for on-site assessments.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $88,000 USD. In addition to competitive pay, we offer fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, life and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, flexible PTO, commuter benefits, pet insurance, and pre-IPO stock options.
