What is this role?
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our team in a full-time, executive-level capacity. This is a hybrid position based in the Charlotte, NC area, requiring you to be in the office three days per week, specifically Tuesday through Thursday. You will serve as an individual contributor, shaping our high-level data strategy while designing scalable systems that support our growing business needs.
What will you do?
- Snowflake Management: You will oversee our Snowflake platform by monitoring credit usage, optimizing compute costs, and ensuring robust security and privacy protocols for sensitive data.
- Data Integration: You will design and optimize efficient pipelines that handle real-time, batch, and event-driven data streams, ensuring information is ready for analytics and machine learning models.
- Platform Optimization: You will collaborate with engineering teams to build unified data models and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring our infrastructure remains scalable as our data volume and complexity increase.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong background in data engineering and architecture. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of data engineering experience, with at least 8 years specifically focused on designing and maintaining large-scale data architecture.
- Expertise in Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses, including performance tuning and cost management.
- Proficiency with NoSQL and multi-model databases, as well as relational database design using tools like PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
- Experience with message streaming technologies such as Kafka, and familiarity with ETL/ELT tools like Matillion, FiveTran, or DBT.
- A solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
