Role at a glance
We are looking for an Engineer or Senior Engineer to focus on packaging. This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely from anywhere. We are seeking someone with at least two years of experience who is ready to support our client engagements and contribute to the broader Python packaging community.
Your impact
- Build and package complex Python projects, including those with compiled dependencies, to ensure reliability across different environments.
- Support and improve packaging workflows specifically for Conda-based ecosystems, with a heavy emphasis on Windows compatibility.
- Act as a technical bridge by working directly with client stakeholders to translate their needs into robust, enterprise-ready packaging solutions.
What you'll need
- At least three years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and direct experience with packaging for ecosystems like PyPI or Conda.
- Hands-on experience working within Windows development and build environments.
- A solid understanding of compiled build systems and tooling, such as CMake, compilers, and linkers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a client-facing role.
- A GitHub profile or portfolio that showcases your work in packaging, build tooling, or open-source contributions.
- Fluency in English.
Perks and compensation
The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $200,000 USD, depending on your specific qualifications and experience. We also provide the following benefits:
