Our aircraft are designed to support a wide range of critical missions, including aerial reconnaissance, surveying, and communication relay services. We are currently looking for a skilled Engineering Technician to join our team in an on-site, full-time capacity to assist in the construction and refinement of our Ultra Long Endurance aircraft family.
Key outcomes
- Assemble, modify, and integrate mechanical and electronic components to build fully operational UAV systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Construct and maintain complex mechanical and electrical subassemblies using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Fabricate and adjust wiring harnesses based on technical drawings, ensuring all connections are reliable and meet project standards.
- Perform essential software configurations, including firmware updates, parameter adjustments, and system calibrations.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of integrated systems, utilizing diagnostic instruments such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Partner with our engineering team to refine manufacturing processes and improve overall production efficiency.
- Maintain meticulous documentation regarding assembly procedures, wiring diagrams, and updates to engineering drawings.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a technician, specifically working with robotic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings to execute manufacturing and assembly tasks.
- Hands-on proficiency with tools such as soldering irons, crimpers, and Dremels for aircraft modification.
- Experience configuring firmware, parameters, and system calibrations for robotics.
- Must be local to the Bay Area and able to commute to our Emeryville, California office.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience with UAS platforms.
- Familiarity with Ardupilot or similar autopilot configuration software.
- Practical experience in building or flying model airplanes.
- Veteran status.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
