Engineering Project Manager at Shearer's Foods

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Dayton, Ohio, for this full-time, on-site position.

Key outcomes

• Lead multi-functional teams to oversee all aspects of capital investments, ranging from initial conceptual studies to final project closeout.
• Define project tasks and manage comprehensive project plans to ensure all objectives are met efficiently.
• Drive operations toward a low-cost, highly efficient model while ensuring all designs adhere to hygienic engineering, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and Value Engineering Analysis standards.
• Track project deliverables, budgets, and timelines using established project management tools.
• Provide consistent support to project teams, monitor progress, and report status updates to all relevant stakeholders.
• Identify potential risks related to budget or scheduling and develop effective remediation plans.
• Coordinate with customers to establish project requirements, provide cost and resource estimates, and define project scopes through formal Project Charters.
• Collaborate on long-term capital planning and automation priorities to provide leadership to the broader engineering team.
• Maintain a 50 percent travel schedule to support offsite projects as required.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of significant experience in a technical field with a strong background in project engineering.
• Proven success in managing million-dollar projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional skills in requirements gathering, change management, and influencing decision-makers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to persuade and lead at all management levels.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and execute large-scale projects involving internal staff, contractors, and vendors.
• Proficiency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience in project management or process engineering within the food, dairy, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or consumer products industries.
• PMP certification.
