The role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in the United States, requiring you to work from our Austin, Texas headquarters for part of the week. As a manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building services, applications, and cloud infrastructure across our product portfolio, including microservices, web, and mobile platforms. You will work alongside product and engineering leadership to foster a culture of quality, reliability, and iterative development.
Core responsibilities
- Manage a team of individual contributors by conducting 1:1s, providing consistent feedback, and supporting their long-term career development.
- Align our technical roadmap with business opportunities by collaborating closely with product managers and stakeholders to determine priorities.
- Improve our engineering standards and processes while evaluating new technology solutions to accelerate our product development.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in software engineering and team leadership. We value candidates who have a growth mindset and a passion for mentorship.
- At least 6 years of experience as an individual contributor in an engineering role.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience leading high-performance engineering teams.
- Proficiency or familiarity with technologies such as PHP, Kotlin, Scala, Python, Java, Node.js, React, MySQL, Kafka, and Docker.
- A track record of delivering high-quality software and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
- A related degree or comparable formal training and work experience.
