Engineering Manager at Octave

Octave is a modern behavioral health practice dedicated to setting a new standard for care that is both high-quality and accessible. We operate virtual and in-person clinics across multiple states, providing evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, and families. By building strong relationships with insurance payers, we are making mental health care more affordable and sustainable. We are currently looking for a proactive, growth-minded Engineering Manager to lead our Revenue Cycle Management and Provider Experience teams. What you'll be doing

• You will mentor and develop your team by conducting regular one-on-ones, identifying skill gaps, and supporting individual career growth.
• You will collaborate closely with product, design, and technical leadership to define our architectural vision and product strategy.
• You will ensure the predictable and incremental delivery of high-quality user experiences and operational automation by making data-driven decisions.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a passion for servant leadership. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience managing software engineering teams in a startup environment.
• 5 or more years of experience as a software engineer working with web technologies, specifically Python, React, and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and GraphQL.
• A strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building products from the ground up and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to help your team succeed.
• Fluency in English.

What you'll get

We offer a competitive salary range based on your location:

• Zone 1: $153,100 - $163,600
• Zone 2 (CO, HI, MD, RI): $168,400 - $179,900
• Zone 3 (AK, CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, WA): $176,000 - $188,100
