Key outcomes
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of 10 or more software engineers to ensure they perform at their best while fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented culture.
- Collaborate with product managers and technical leads to define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for your squads.
- Maintain a strong technical presence by contributing to code, writing architecture designs, and guiding the team through complex trade-offs and long-term architectural decisions.
- Drive the scalability and reliability of our platform, ensuring we leverage best-in-class technologies and design practices.
- Manage the recruitment process to build a sustainable, diverse, and world-class engineering team.
- Take ownership of team engagement scores and ensure clear communication regarding business goals and company vision.
- Oversee technical decision-making and architecture across your portfolio, including managing legacy code migrations and domain-specific technical expertise.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in software engineering management, with a proven track record of building and maintaining high-functioning, productive teams.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage in deep discussions with engineers and technical leadership.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environment, ideally within a multi-tenant SaaS organization.
- A high-agency mindset, characterized by a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving goals.
- Demonstrated expertise in building distributed, cloud-native applications and services.
- Proficiency with AWS, including multi-region and multi-tenant architectures.
- Experience with system architecture patterns such as microservices, SOA, and event-driven architecture.
- Practical knowledge of cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, containerization, and Kafka.
- Experience with programming languages such as PHP, Golang, Python, and infrastructure tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with operating large-scale multi-tenant storage deployments, including MySQL and various NoSQL databases.
- Fluency in English.
