About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join us on a contractor basis. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and growing our software engineering team. You will balance people management, project delivery, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our engineering efforts align with our broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and coach a team of more than 6 software engineers, providing consistent performance feedback and supporting their professional growth.
- Partner with engineering leadership to define department strategy, improve operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across departments, including product management, design, and marketing, to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact technical projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, including 1 to 2 years in a technical leadership or people management role.
- Proven track record in project management, with the ability to make necessary tradeoffs to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams or domains.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive progress with minimal guidance.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, and leading diverse engineering teams.
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Go, and React is considered a plus.
Location
This position is remote and based in Brazil.
