At Headway, we are on a mission to build a new mental healthcare system that is accessible to everyone. Since our founding in 2019, we have grown into a national network of over 45,000 providers who use our platform to accept insurance and serve more than 1 million patients. As a Series D company backed by investors like Andreessen Horowitz and Accel, we are looking for a full-time Engineering Manager to join our remote team. You will play a pivotal role in leading our engineering efforts as we scale our provider-focused strategy and continue to make therapy more affordable and accessible.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 6 or more engineers while ensuring product and process alignment across your group.
- Foster the growth of your team members through consistent mentorship, regular one-on-one meetings, and actionable feedback.
- Contribute to our broader company strategy and product roadmap while helping us scale our engineering department.
Requirements
We are looking for a product-minded leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams. You should have a strong technical foundation that allows you to guide your team in making sound architectural decisions. Your qualifications should include:
- At least 3 years of experience in an Engineering Manager role.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Software Engineer.
- A proven track record of leading teams to deliver significant business outcomes through technical investment.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and a product-oriented mindset.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Bonus points for experience with Python, React, AWS infrastructure, or health tech.
What we offer
