The opportunity

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Marketplace Team as we scale. This role is central to our growth, as you will oversee the evolution of both our core website and our mobile applications for iOS and Android. You will report directly to our VP of Engineering and collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to ensure our platform remains both high-performing and delightful for our guests and hotel partners. This is an on-site position based at our headquarters in New York City, where you will work from the office four days a week. The base salary for this role is between $190,000 and $240,000 per year, plus equity.

A day in the life

• You will mentor and coach a team of high-quality engineers, fostering their professional growth while refining our internal processes and tooling to maximize team efficiency.
• You will take full product ownership, working alongside leadership to define an ambitious roadmap that balances technical excellence with business KPIs.
• You will dive deep into our technology stack, which includes Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, Postgres, MongoDB, and AWS ECS, to drive foundational improvements and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader with a proven history of building user-facing software in fast-paced environments. You possess a strong technical background that allows you to understand the full stack from top to bottom, and you have significant experience managing and coaching teams of three or more direct reports. You are an empathetic communicator who excels at translating complex business needs into actionable, well-defined projects. You are fluent in English and thrive when working cross-functionally to align technical solutions with our broader business goals.
