The role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a leadership position based in the United States, operating in a hybrid work environment. You will lead our Scrum teams, overseeing the full scope of our site engineering, including our services layer, frontend interfaces, and API systems. We need a leader who can manage individual contributors while fostering a culture of growth and technical excellence.
Core responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and QA engineers to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Collaborate with your team to define and execute a technical roadmap that aligns with our business goals and keeps us at the forefront of web technology.
- Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring that features are delivered on time and meet our high standards for quality and scalability.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership role, specifically managing teams for web applications hosted on AWS.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, NestJS, React, Next.js, MongoDB, and Postgres.
- A solid understanding of both JavaScript and TypeScript, alongside expertise in object-oriented and functional programming principles.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, RESTful API design, and modern Agile methodologies.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a startup environment or the e-commerce sector is highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
