Are you ready to help us shape the future of creative technology? At Procreate, we are passionate about building exceptional tools that merge high-performance engineering with beautiful user experiences. Our software is used by millions of people across the globe, and we are committed to empowering artists by putting more power directly into their hands. We are now looking for a dedicated Engineering Manager to join our team and help us drive our ambitious product roadmap forward.
What you bring
This full-time position is based on-site at our Hobart office in Australia. As our first dedicated Engineering Manager, you will play a vital role in balancing hands-on technical contributions with progressive people management. You will serve as a key stakeholder, reporting directly to our CTO, Michael Shaw, to ensure our engineering efforts align with our broader business goals. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coordinating, and aligning diverse engineering functions to ensure project success.
- Providing constructive feedback, conducting performance reviews, and nurturing the growth of our internal engineering talent.
- Defining project parameters and overseeing timelines to improve the overall sustainability and efficiency of our development process.
Requirements
We are looking for a leader who possesses both deep technical expertise and strong emotional intelligence. You should have a proven background as an Engineering Manager within a technology, product, or creative company, along with a methodical and detail-oriented approach to your work. Ideally, you have significant hands-on experience in UI development or the creation of custom, in-house rendering technology. You must be comfortable communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and possess a calm, self-assured leadership style that inspires your team. Proficiency in English is required, as you will be working closely with our executive team and various departments to foster interdepartmental cooperation.
What we offer
We believe in providing an environment where you can do the best work of your life. While we focus on building a supportive and high-impact culture, you can expect to be an integral part of a team that values innovation and creative problem-solving. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to:
- Complete our comprehensive onboarding process to integrate into our unique culture.
- Master our internal product development frameworks and practices.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with our executive team and key stakeholders.
- Take a lead role in the execution and shipping of core product features.
How to Apply
We want to see what you are truly capable of, so our recruitment process is designed to look beyond just your CV. We invite you to share your story and explain how you envision contributing to the future of Procreate. If you are excited about this opportunity and ready to work with us on-site in Hobart, please submit your application today. We look forward to hearing from you.
