The opportunity

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Product Development organization in Germany. In this role, you will lead a talented, Berlin-based team of seven frontend and backend professionals. You will be the driving force behind our technical strategy, ensuring that our applications for trip planning are robust, scalable, and perfectly aligned with our business goals. By bridging the gap between high-level strategy and daily execution, you will help your team own their impact and deliver high-quality solutions that empower our users.

A day in the life

• You will mentor and lead your team of seven software engineers, fostering a high-performance environment where everyone can grow and succeed.
• You will guide the team through complex API design and system architecture tasks to ensure our technical solutions meet evolving business needs.
• You will facilitate efficient development processes by helping the team gather, analyze, and document technical requirements while maintaining a clear vision of our project goals.

Who you are

You are a collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced environments. You bring a blend of technical depth and people management skills that allow you to inspire your team. To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Approximately 4 years of relevant work experience, specifically within the internal tooling space.
• Experience leading a team or project, including time spent acting as a Scrum Master.
• Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Ruby and TypeScript, alongside deep knowledge of REST, JSON, and XML.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to various stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset toward staying current with the latest trends in both frontend and backend development.
