Engineering Manager at VTS

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team in Canada on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will lead our engineering efforts, foster a collaborative team culture, and ensure we continue to deliver high-quality products that empower our clients.

Key outcomes

• Cultivate a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture that attracts and retains top talent.
• Manage and refine our agile processes to provide engineers with the autonomy and context they need to ship high-quality products efficiently.
• Partner with product managers to own the execution and delivery of our product roadmap.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and prioritize strategic technical investments that support our long-term business goals.
• Recruit, onboard, and mentor team members, providing structured feedback to support their individual career growth.
• Work alongside cross-functional partners, including designers and QA, to maintain a robust and scalable technical environment.
• Oversee projects utilizing a modern stack including Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Kafka, Python, AWS Services, Terraform, Snowflake, and dbt.

Requirements

• A strong technical background with a proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining complex web applications.
• Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring engineering teams to solve technical challenges and manage project risks.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop diverse engineering talent.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical strategy and business objectives.
• A customer-focused mindset and a deep commitment to engineering quality.
• Professional proficiency in English.
