Engineering Manager at Quorum

Our platform empowers users to manage stakeholder engagement, execute grassroots advocacy campaigns, and monitor legislative developments at federal, state, and local levels. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Data team and lead our efforts in maintaining high-quality data systems.

Key outcomes

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to a team of 4-6 full-stack engineers.
• Collaborate with the Data Product Manager to define and execute the technical roadmap.
• Balance management responsibilities with 50% hands-on coding and technical guidance.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data scrapers and spiders to ensure high data quality.
• Uphold strict service level agreements with our clients through proactive monitoring and problem-solving.
• Manage stakeholder expectations while navigating complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in an engineering management role.
• Proven expertise in web scraping, including the development of spiders and crawlers.
• Strong background in data modeling for both relational and non-relational databases, as well as data integration and performance tuning.
• Technical proficiency in Python, React (or similar frameworks), PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, and Linux.
• Experience working within cloud-native architectures.
• Strong project management abilities and a history of successfully delivering complex technical initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience collaborating with hybrid teams and US-based organizations.

Preferred qualifications

• Practical experience with Django.
