We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Data team and lead our efforts in maintaining high-quality data systems.
Key outcomes
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to a team of 4-6 full-stack engineers.
- Collaborate with the Data Product Manager to define and execute the technical roadmap.
- Balance management responsibilities with 50% hands-on coding and technical guidance.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data scrapers and spiders to ensure high data quality.
- Uphold strict service level agreements with our clients through proactive monitoring and problem-solving.
- Manage stakeholder expectations while navigating complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in an engineering management role.
- Proven expertise in web scraping, including the development of spiders and crawlers.
- Strong background in data modeling for both relational and non-relational databases, as well as data integration and performance tuning.
- Technical proficiency in Python, React (or similar frameworks), PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, and Linux.
- Experience working within cloud-native architectures.
- Strong project management abilities and a history of successfully delivering complex technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience collaborating with hybrid teams and US-based organizations.
Preferred qualifications
- Practical experience with Django.
