Key outcomes
- Recruit, challenge, and reward high-performance engineers who consistently deliver substantial impact.
- Lead the development and ownership of key product features with the Toronto-based team.
- Provide leadership in iteratively defining and refining development processes as the team grows.
- Work within an agile, small-team environment inside a rapidly expanding cloud company.
- Collaborate directly with product stakeholders to drive multiple features through to successful delivery.
- Serve as a trusted partner to senior management in determining solutions, driving alignment, and implementing decisions across the team.
Requirements
- Two or more years of software engineering management experience using an agile development process.
- Five or more years developing commercial software in Java.
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, coach, and lead a team to success.
- Expertise in object-oriented design and implementation.
- Experience building application development tools, APIs, or enterprise application platform software.
- Strong communication skills.
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
- Tenacity, technical excellence, and the capacity to contribute quickly while maintaining attention to detail.
- Drive and flexibility to work hard in a dynamic environment and to learn rapidly when facing unknowns or evolving requirements.

- A record of making teams measurably stronger through effective mentorship.
- The ability to motivate others, instill accountability, and consistently achieve results.
Compensation
Base pay ranges from $120,000 to $300,000. Actual compensation may vary within or outside this range depending on experience and location. We evaluate each candidate individually and base offers on unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation beyond base salary, such as variable or stock bonuses.
