I am Paul, the VP of Engineering at Customer.io. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Pipelines squad, a team dedicated to ensuring our platform remains a source of trusted, real-time data for marketers worldwide. Our company supports over 7,100 businesses by transforming behavioral data into relevant, timely communications, and we are looking for a leader to help us build high-scale, distributed systems that make data integration effortless for our users.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a talented squad of engineers, providing direct coaching and support for backend, frontend, full-stack, and QA team members.
- Oversee the development of scalable, secure, and architecturally sound solutions while maintaining high standards for documentation, peer reviews, and production monitoring.
- Partner closely with Product Management and Design to align technical strategy with our business goals and market needs.
- Manage the full lifecycle of your team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages accountability and high-quality delivery.
Must-haves
- At least three years of experience as an Engineering Manager within a SaaS environment.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, specifically GCP and AWS, and modern software architecture.
- Proficiency with the Go programming language.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to represent your team's technical decisions across the organization.
- Experience building and nurturing high-performing teams, with a track record of helping engineers grow into senior or staff-level roles.
- Availability to work within North or South American time zones.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $152,000 to $205,000 USD, depending on experience and market adjustments.
