The opportunity
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers focused on building applications, services, and cloud infrastructure across our diverse product portfolio. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, working closely with leadership to foster a culture of quality, reliability, and iterative development. Whether you are managing microservices or coordinating across our mobile and web platforms, your goal is to empower your team to build the best possible solutions for our community.
A day in the life
- You will mentor and support your team through regular 1:1 meetings, providing constructive feedback, and guiding their long-term career development.
- You will partner with product managers to manage the backlog for the Core Services squad, ensuring our technical roadmap remains aligned with our broader business goals.
- You will contribute to architectural design and occasionally jump into the code yourself to assist with pull requests or provide hands-on guidance when it helps the team move forward.
Who you are
You are a leader who cares deeply about people and helping them reach their full potential. You have a strong technical background and a track record of delivering high-quality software in a collaborative environment. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you are comfortable navigating the complexities of a high-growth company.
Key requirements include:
- At least 6 years of experience as an individual contributor in an engineering role, plus 2 or more years of experience leading high-performance teams.
- A solid understanding of system architecture and API design, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
- Familiarity with modern technologies such as PHP, Kotlin, Scala, Python, Java, Node.js, React, MySQL, Kafka, and Docker.
- A passion for mentorship and a growth mindset that encourages continuous learning and teaching.
- Professional proficiency in English.

We believe in fostering an inclusive and flexible environment where you can do your best work. This is a hybrid role based in the United States, allowing you to balance time at home with collaborative days at our headquarters in Austin, Texas.
