Engineering Manager at Atlas Health

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading our talented team of Developers. You should have a strong background in backend development with Golang and GraphQL and extensive experience in deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes for frontend development with React. 

We are a growth stage company, so the Engineering Manager should be both hands on and a solid people manager who is ready to manage our technological evolution as well as be ready to code or debug an issue if needed. 

What you’ll do: 

• Collaborate with the team to provide architectural oversight for backend and frontend development work and projects.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Must have hands on experience designing and developing robust backend services and APIs using Golang and GraphQL.
• Implement efficient data models and interactions with databases.
• Develop responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React.
• Architect, deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes clusters.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Manage and prioritize development tasks, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide career development guidance to team members.
• Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations, and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts.  

What you bring to the table: 

• Proven experience with expertise in developing robust backend services and APIs using Go (Golang) and Gin framework. 

• Utilize SODA/POP (ORM for Go) for efficient interaction with databases and data modeling. 

• Design and implement efficient GraphQL APIs using Apollo or similar tools. 

• Develop responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React. 

• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes (k8s) clusters, leveraging Argo for continuous delivery and OKD for Kubernetes management. 

• MariaDB for databases. 

• Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role, with a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams. 

• Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, and data modeling. 

• Experience with frontend development principles and best practices. 

• Proficiency in deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments. 

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

Bonus Points: 

• Experience in the healthcare domain.
• Familiarity with other cloud-native technologies and platforms (e.g., Docker, Istio).
• Knowledge of database technologies commonly used with Golang (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
