We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. At Retool, we are on a mission to bring high-quality software to everyone by changing how internal tools are built. With nearly half of all code written for internal use, we provide a platform that combines traditional development with drag-and-drop UI and AI to make building operational software faster and more efficient. Our customers range from growing startups to Fortune 500 companies, and we need a leader who is ready to help us scale our impact in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a full-stack engineering team by identifying growth opportunities, providing consistent feedback, and managing performance.
Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to define team strategy and ensure we are delivering maximum business impact.
Implement scalable and repeatable processes that empower our engineering and product teams to succeed while engaging directly with customers to understand their needs.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
A strong technical background that allows you to navigate our codebase and participate in high-level architectural and design discussions.
Proven success in recruiting, building, and scaling high-performing teams.
A strategic mindset with the ability to manage stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and foster a healthy engineering culture.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners.

What we offer

We provide a competitive salary range depending on your location within the United States, spanning from $131,900 to $251,900 USD across our different geographic pay tiers. In addition to base compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
