About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join us on a full-time basis. This is a new and influential position where you will help define the future of our engineering organization. You will manage the engineers and quality assurance members across two or three of our product squads. By working closely with our tech leads, you will foster a high-performing culture and ensure our developers have an outstanding experience. This is a hands-on leadership role perfect for someone who is deeply passionate about both technology and people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship and guidance to your team members, setting clear goals and offering regular feedback to support their professional growth.
- Collaborate with tech leads and the VP of Engineering to refine our internal processes and enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Maintain a strong understanding of our architecture and codebase, engaging in technical discussions and staying active in the development process when needed.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a proven background in people management and team leadership. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a strong technical foundation, particularly in building and maintaining scalable backend systems. You should be well-versed in Agile methodologies and modern software development practices. Because you will be working across different squads and stakeholders, excellent communication skills are essential. We value leaders who are self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic about inspiring others in a fast-paced environment.
Location
This position is based in Australia. We operate with a hybrid work model, requiring you to work from our centrally located South Melbourne office three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining days.
Compensation and Benefits
We are committed to supporting your professional and personal well-being through several key benefits:
- A dedicated learning budget to support your individual development and career growth.
- Paid time off to ensure you have the necessary time to rest and recharge.
- A hybrid work arrangement that promotes a healthy work-life balance.
