About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will lead a talented group of developers as we scale our high-quality financial products. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering and play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards for technical excellence and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-trust team by providing consistent feedback, coaching, and data-driven insights to foster professional growth.
- Direct agile processes for your scrum team while collaborating closely with product managers and senior developers to execute our product roadmap.
- Drive technical strategy by identifying opportunities for improvement, mitigating risks, and advocating for best practices that align with our broader business objectives.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should bring a blend of technical depth and leadership experience:
- At least 2 years of experience managing software engineers within a fast-paced startup environment.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a software developer working on web products using modern cloud-native, serverless, or microservices architectures.
- Proven success in building a strong performance culture and coaching developers to reach their full potential.
- Deep familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and the ability to use these principles to improve team execution.
- Strong project management skills, including proficiency with tools like Jira and Confluence, and the ability to balance technical debt with new feature delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between various departments and stakeholders.

We offer a competitive salary range of $118,000 to $129,000 CAD. In addition to your compensation, you will have access to the following benefits:
- Comprehensive dental insurance coverage.
- A flexible, remote-first work environment that allows you to choose your workspace.
- An annual professional development budget to help you continue growing your expertise.
