We are currently searching for a dedicated Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. In this role, you will lead a team of 6 to 8 direct reports, overseeing the daily operations, project schedules, and personnel within our Engineering Department. We specialize in the design and manufacture of precision products using sapphire, glass, fused quartz, and fused silica, serving critical sectors like the aerospace and defense industries. As a player-coach, you will bridge the gap between our leadership, our international customer base, and our engineering staff to ensure we continue our legacy of excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and manage both daily tasks and long-term engineering projects to ensure they are completed on schedule.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team by providing technical guidance and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Collaborate with the CTO to execute our technology roadmap, oversee government contracts, and integrate engineering best practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in the aerospace or defense industry, specifically with custom-engineered products.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing a technical team of 6 to 8 people.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and governmental regulations while presenting information clearly to various stakeholders.
- A hands-on approach to operations, process improvement, and new product development.
