What is this role?
We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead one or more engineering teams on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This is a management-level position that calls for someone who has already guided engineers through both day-to-day delivery and longer-term technical decisions.
What will you do?
- Lead the people side of engineering by handling hiring, retention, performance management, and coaching while staying close enough to the work to offer technical guidance when needed.
- Partner with an embedded product manager to keep the team focused on the right priorities in both the short and long term, balancing immediate customer needs with sustainable system health.
- Champion sound technical practices such as continuous integration, automated testing, and pragmatic design choices so the team delivers value quickly without sacrificing future maintainability.
What makes you a great fit?
We are looking for someone who has spent at least two years managing engineers and at least five years building software themselves. You have experience shaping team culture in a player-coach capacity, developing career plans, running performance reviews, and conducting interviews. Strong communication, empathy, and emotional intelligence are essential, along with the ability to foster a code-review culture that values high test coverage, automation, and reliability. Familiarity with React, TypeScript, .NET, MS SQL Server, or Azure is helpful but not required; what matters most is a pragmatic mindset and a genuine interest in the problems we solve for the restaurant industry. English fluency is needed for day-to-day collaboration.
What's in it for you?
We offer a competitive compensation package along with flexible paid time off, ten weeks of paid parental leave, and paid company holidays. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage with FSA, HSA, and HRA options, basic and voluntary life insurance, a 401k employer match, commuter benefits, wellness programs, fitness reimbursement, and dedicated learning and development funds. You will also enjoy yearly team off-sites, fun team events, and the chance to make a visible impact on products used by major restaurant brands worldwide.
