Since 2018, CookUnity has been on a mission to reconnect people with the soul of food by connecting them directly with talented chefs. We have grown into a platform delivering 35 million meals annually, and we are now evolving into a marketplace dedicated to empowering chefs to nourish the world. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Growth team, which is responsible for attracting and retaining customers through our landing pages, sign-up funnels, and user activation features.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers.
- Provide technical and architectural direction to ensure our systems remain scalable and aligned with business goals.
- Stay hands-on by writing code for approximately 40% of your time.
- Refine our agile processes to ensure effective project planning and execution.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- Manage the hiring, development, and retention of top-tier engineering talent.
- Allocate resources strategically to balance rapid project delivery with long-term system health and the management of technical debt.
- Oversee quality assurance standards throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
Must-haves
- At least 2 years of experience as an Engineering Manager leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.
- Proven technical proficiency with production-scale systems, including React, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS, and Kotlin.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- A track record of designing resilient system architectures and mentoring engineers to help them grow.
- The ability to adapt and thrive within a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience working with B2C marketplace platforms or e-commerce businesses.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
