The role

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a management-level position that requires at least 3 years of experience in a similar leadership role, alongside at least 5 years of experience as a full-stack engineer. You will lead our Growth team, focusing on our website, lead generation, and the overall member experience. We have a strong preference for candidates based in Montreal, Canada, and this role operates on a hybrid work model.

Core responsibilities

• Align our application architecture and technology choices with our broader business objectives to ensure both short-term success and long-term scalability.
• Cultivate a high-performing and collaborative team culture by providing mentorship, career guidance, and support for the professional development of each team member.
• Maintain technical excellence by enforcing coding standards, conducting regular code reviews, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve application performance and responsiveness.

Skills and experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven track record in engineering management and full-stack development.
• Experience working with e-commerce applications, specifically with a focus on A/B testing and conversion rate optimization.
• Strong understanding of technical SEO best practices and their impact on web performance.
• Technical proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, MongoDB, and Apache Kafka.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-streaming platforms.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a genuine desire for continuous self-improvement.
