We are a remote-first organization with a global team of over 1,000 people, and we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join us in this mission.

Key outcomes

• Lead the RemittancePlus team, a high-velocity group functioning as a startup within our organization, focused on delivering alternative revenue sources.
• Manage a diverse team of iOS, Android, and Python engineers, ensuring their productivity, professional growth, and overall wellbeing.
• Collaborate across organizational boundaries to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
• Provide technical leadership by guiding solution design, platform architecture, and maintaining high standards for code and data quality.
• Ensure the security of all delivered software while helping the team navigate complex technical challenges.
• Foster a strong engineering culture by setting clear expectations and providing consistent, actionable feedback.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a technical leadership role, with the ability to provide technical estimates and prioritize work based on deep system design knowledge.
• Demonstrated success as a people manager, with a focus on effective communication and the ability to take immediate action on team issues.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to create clear technical stories, unblock engineers, and meet delivery deadlines.
• Proficiency in running SQL queries to provide analytical data to product teams.
• Technical familiarity with our core stack, including Python, Java, iOS, Kotlin, AWS, GCP, CircleCI, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Professional fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience working with Kubernetes in a production environment.
