Picture a team of engineers and product thinkers spread across different time zones yet moving in sync, all working to replace clunky spreadsheets with a modern platform that gives finance leaders real-time clarity. That is the daily reality at Mosaic, where our Strategic Finance Platform is quietly reshaping how companies plan, forecast, and allocate capital.
The opportunity
As Engineering Manager you will guide a small, high-performing group of builders who turn product ideas into reliable software. Your leadership will keep projects on track, help teammates grow, and ensure the code we ship meets the high standards our customers expect. In short, you will turn strategy into working software while shaping how the team works together every day.
A day in the life
- You start the morning by running our Scrum ceremonies-sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retros-so the team knows exactly what success looks like for the next two weeks.
- Midday you pair with engineers on technical decisions, review pull requests, and remove blockers that could slow delivery, always keeping quality and deadlines in balance.
- In the afternoon you meet with product, design, and other partners to align priorities, then spend time coaching a team member on career goals or giving thoughtful feedback that helps everyone level up.
Who you are
You bring at least five years of hands-on software engineering experience and at least two of those years have been spent leading or managing other engineers. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is expected, and an advanced degree is a plus. You are comfortable with modern web technologies and cloud services; our stack includes .NET, Angular, TypeScript, and AWS, so familiarity with any of these is valuable. You have guided teams through Agile and Scrum rituals and used tools such as Jira or Trello to keep work visible. Clear communication, a habit of mentoring others, and the ability to juggle several projects at once are second nature to you. English fluency is required so we can collaborate smoothly across our remote team.
Why you'll love it here
Our headquarters sit in Del Mar, California, yet we have been remote-first since day one. Twice a year the whole crew gathers in San Diego for in-person connection and team-building adventures away from our screens. We value autonomy, continuous learning, and an inclusive culture where every background is welcomed and respected. If you are looking for a place where your technical guidance and people skills can directly influence the future of finance, we would love to meet you.
