We are on a mission to power biology's century by making clinical trials faster and more reliable. The current infrastructure for medical research is outdated, which drives up costs and delays life-saving treatments. By transforming how these trials are developed, we are helping patients access breakthrough medicine much sooner. Since 2021, we have supported over 100 clinical trials for thousands of patients, and we are backed by major investors like Balderton Capital. We are looking for passionate people to join our collaborative, no-ego culture where we value ownership and high-impact work.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in the United Kingdom, specifically working out of our office near London Bridge. You will lead a team of software engineers as we scale our platform, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced leader who wants to combine their technical background with people management in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
What will you do?
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 6 to 8 software engineers to support their professional growth and ensure high-quality output.
- Collaborate closely with product management to define roadmaps, manage resources, and ensure our technical decisions remain aligned with user needs.
- Maintain your technical edge by contributing to architecture and planning discussions, while occasionally performing hands-on coding to stay grounded in the team's daily reality.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have at least 3 years of experience as a hands-on software engineer and 2 or more years of experience managing a team. We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, a skilled listener, and comfortable resolving conflicts. You should be product-minded and eager to understand the why behind our technical projects. Proficiency with our core stack, including React, TypeScript, Django, Python, Postgres, and Amazon ECS, is highly valued. If you have previous experience working in regulated industries like health tech or fintech, that is a significant bonus.
What's in it for you?
We offer a supportive environment designed to help you thrive both personally and professionally. Your benefits include:
- Meaningful stock options to ensure you share in our success.
- Flexible working arrangements with a hybrid office presence.
- Unlimited paid time off, with a minimum of 28 days encouraged.
- Comprehensive medical insurance and a monthly wellness allowance.
- A dedicated annual learning budget of £1,000 for your professional development.
- Commuter benefits, including a cycle-to-work scheme.
- Regular company retreats and team events to foster our collaborative culture.
