Role at a glance
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis in Australia. This is a leadership position for an experienced professional who is ready to drive technical strategy and foster team growth. You will balance high-level architectural decision-making with the day-to-day mentorship of our engineering talent.
Your impact
- Architect and design scalable, reliable distributed systems while implementing modern practices like microservices, domain-driven design, and event-driven architecture.
- Build and lead high-performing engineering teams by developing competency matrices, setting clear expectations, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to align technical solutions with our strategic business goals while managing IT operations and security compliance.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in software development and leadership. We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in engineering roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven expertise in building scalable systems and integrating microservices.
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, and a strong grasp of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks such as JavaScript and Python.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills in English and a collaborative, adaptable mindset.
- A certification as a Scrum Master or equivalent Agile experience is highly preferred.
