At Abacus Works we are building Hyperlane, the first permissionless interoperability layer that lets developers connect any blockchain without gatekeepers. Our modular security stack gives teams full control over how their cross-chain applications are protected, and our tooling already powers seamless interactions across a growing network of chains. We are now looking for an Engineering Manager who will help shape the next phase of this infrastructure while guiding a talented group of engineers.

About the Role

We are hiring an Engineering Manager on a Full Time basis. In this position you will combine people leadership with hands-on technical guidance as we expand the set of developer tools that make Hyperlane easy to integrate and operate.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coach a team of product engineers, creating a high-performance environment that balances ambitious goals with sustainable delivery.
Provide technical direction on architecture and design while staying close to the code through reviews and occasional implementation work.
Own the end-to-end quality of our developer tools-CLI, SDK, documentation, Warp UI, and Explorer-so external teams have a frictionless experience when building on Hyperlane.

Requirements

At least five years of software engineering experience, including two or more years in a leadership capacity.
Prior experience in crypto, gained either professionally or through substantial personal projects.
Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and a genuine interest in staying hands-on with production code.
Clear communication skills and an intuitive grasp of what developers need to adopt new interoperability tooling quickly and safely.

Location

This role is based in the United States and requires on-site collaboration.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $300,000 USD. Final compensation will reflect experience and location.
