About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will lead our Growth squad and act as a central figure in both people management and technical guidance. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with our Product Manager to refine our processes and shape our engineering culture. This is a hybrid position that offers the flexibility to work in a way that suits your lifestyle while driving meaningful improvements to our user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and lead a team of talented engineers, serving as both a dedicated people manager and a hands-on technical partner.
- Foster a culture of rapid experimentation and iteration to gain deep insights into customer behavior and improve product effectiveness.
- Drive strategic technical decision-making and guide improvements to our engineering processes to enhance velocity and quality of life.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and experience:
- A proven track record in engineering leadership, ideally within a growth-focused team, with experience managing high-velocity A/B testing.
- Strong systems-thinking skills with the ability to navigate both high-level architecture and implementation details.
- A flexible mindset that allows you to switch between various programming languages, frameworks, and paradigms.
- Deep enthusiasm for collaborative problem-solving and supporting the professional development of your team members.
- Bonus points if you have experience with Domain Driven Design, CQRS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, or languages such as PHP, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, and Swift.
Location
This position is available to candidates anywhere, with the option to work remotely or utilize our office spaces in Toronto and Saskatoon.
