About the Role
We are seeking a Full Time Engineering Manager to join our innovative tech team. In this role, you will be a key player in designing and implementing high-performance systems that are essential for detecting financial risks. You will report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with other managers to own cross-team initiatives, ensuring our solutions meet the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of your team by managing the growth, development, and onboarding of current and new engineers.
- Mentor your team members while fostering a positive environment that encourages innovation and a continuous learning mindset.
- Partner with product counterparts to set the technical direction and ensure we deliver effectively against our roadmap.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in managing high-performing engineering teams and a deep understanding of modern software practices. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in leadership within an engineering organization.
- Proficiency in a JVM-based language, such as Kotlin.
- Expertise in building microservices and working with data-intensive applications.
- Strong experience with relational databases like Postgres.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Familiarity with our broader tech stack, including Python, TypeScript, React, Kafka, gRPC, Grafana, and ArgoCD.
- A commitment to being based in Lisbon.
Location
This position is based in Portugal. We operate on a hybrid work model, which requires you to be in the office two days per week to support team collaboration and relationship building.
