Engineering Manager at Panopto

Our team of approximately 200 professionals is currently looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Data Services Team. In this role, you will take ownership of the systems that power our core product, our business intelligence, and our customer-facing search platform. What you'll be doing

• Product and Service Excellence: You will build and maintain reliable, high-performing services by deeply understanding the needs of our end-users and mentoring a team of high-performing developers to deliver impactful solutions.
• Operations and Fiduciary Responsibility: You will oversee our cloud database operations to ensure high availability and scalability, while also managing operational budgets and implementing cost-saving strategies for our cloud resources.
• Growth and Collaboration: You will define hiring plans, collaborate with peer managers across Cloud Ops and User Experience, and empower senior engineers to maintain high standards for software architecture and performance.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience in people management for teams of four or more engineers, including senior and staff-level individual contributors.
• Strong technical expertise in online database design, offline data pipelines, and distributed systems.
• Fluency in SQL and a track record of performing code reviews in C# or Java.
• Experience with AWS, specifically regarding metrics, monitoring, and real-time diagnostics.
• A history of technical leadership, including project management and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business.
• Fluency in English and a strong sense of technical curiosity.
