What you bring
We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team that designs, builds, and operates the critical network infrastructure behind Reddit. You will guide strategy and day-to-day execution for both the traffic that reaches reddit.com and the service-to-service connections that keep our platform reliable at global scale. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the United States, and the work touches software engineering, engineering management, cloud infrastructure, DNS, service mesh, and load-balancing technologies.
- Build, hire, and lead a high-caliber team of software and systems engineers.
- Design and deliver software that improves the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s products.
- Lead a coherent vision for traffic and transport infrastructure that supports Reddit’s continued growth.
The position is based in the United States and requires on-site collaboration.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings at least three years of experience managing software-engineering teams and at least five years developing internet-scale systems, ideally in cloud-networking environments. You are comfortable with cloud infrastructure components such as CDNs, load balancers, service meshes, DNS, and HTTP, and you hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience. Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work, and a track record of hiring, onboarding, and developing engineers are essential. Excellent written and spoken English is required.
What we offer
The base pay range for this position is $198,200–$297,300 USD.
