The opportunity
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Payments and Trust team. This is a vital role where you will oversee the platforms that allow our riders to pay for their journeys seamlessly while managing the complex financial infrastructure required to operate in over 20 countries. You will also lead our efforts to foster a safe environment by building tools that detect and prevent fraud and unsafe behavior. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and ready to scale.
A day in the life
- You will define and implement a long-term strategy for our payment and trust platforms, focusing on creating frictionless experiences for our users.
- You will mentor and coach a team of talented engineers, providing the feedback and guidance they need to perform at their best.
- You will partner with cross-functional leaders in product, data science, finance, and legal to solve complex, high-stakes problems that directly impact our bottom line.
Who you are
You are a seasoned leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and solving intricate technical challenges. You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy turning large datasets into actionable insights. Your background includes:
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management role leading engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders.
- A high level of curiosity and the analytical ability to uncover trends.
- Proficiency in English.
- Preferred: Deep domain expertise in the payments, trust, or fraud prevention space.
