At Ditto, we are on a mission to unlock the full potential of edge devices by eliminating the complex plumbing typically required to build high-performance applications. As a globally distributed team, we prioritize trust, communication, and continuous improvement in everything we do. We believe that a diverse team with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives is essential to building the next generation of mesh network technology.
The role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a management-level position where you will lead and guide our group of network software engineers. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our network technology, focusing on areas like mesh lab testing, multi-platform BLE connectivity, peer-to-peer WiFi, and advanced congestion control. This role is perfect for a leader who enjoys solving complex technical problems while fostering a culture of excellence within a remote environment.
Core responsibilities
- Lead and amplify the impact of a team of 4 to 8 individual contributors by supporting their career growth, facilitating their technical work, and ensuring their overall success.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to define the roadmap, which involves engaging with engineers, researchers, partners, and customers to align on project goals.
- Set the standard for team culture by modeling our core values of trust and clear communication while managing project timelines and reporting execution status to leadership.
Skills and experience
- At least 2 years of experience in people management, including hiring, performance reviews, and professional development.
- A minimum of 2 years of technical leadership experience, specifically in driving architectural guidance, project scoping, and engineering best practices.
- A strong background in network engineering with a deep technical understanding of TCP/IP, multiplexing, packet framing, and congestion control.
- Excellent written communication skills, as our distributed nature relies heavily on asynchronous collaboration and the creation of detailed design documents.
- A willingness to travel internationally once per quarter for our team gatherings.
Compensation and benefits
We provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and long-term success, including:
- Stock options to ensure you share in our collective success.
- Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage.
- A 401(k) retirement plan.
- The flexibility of a fully remote work environment.
How to apply
If you are passionate about building the future of edge networking and thrive in a collaborative, remote-first culture, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to our team to express your interest and share your relevant experience. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals throughout the hiring process.
