The role
We are seeking a Mobile Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a management-level position where you will lead, mentor, and grow our talented iOS and Android engineering teams. You will work in a remote capacity, collaborating with designers and product managers to deliver features that foster healthy communities and help our users spend more time in nature.
Core responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of experienced mobile engineers while actively coaching them to support their professional growth.
- Lead technical, design, and product discussions to ensure we are building high-quality, scalable solutions for our global user base.
- Drive engineering efficiency and team happiness by implementing effective processes, advocating for architectural excellence, and hiring exceptional new talent.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should be a collaborative leader with a passion for building high-performing teams. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience leading mobile teams through complex technical and organizational challenges.
- Proven success in shipping large-scale projects that involve multiple dependencies.
- Proficiency with CI/CD workflows and project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
- Technical familiarity with mobile development stacks, including Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, and XCTest.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of trust, autonomy, and humility.
- A genuine passion for the outdoors and a desire to help others experience it.
