The role

We are seeking a Lead Engineering Manager to oversee our Applied Machine Learning and Research division. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Spain. You will serve as a hands-on leader, balancing technical contributions with project coordination and people management. Your work will directly influence our ability to deliver personalized, secure, and engaging experiences for our players through advanced predictive analytics and real-time recommendation systems.

Core responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 4 to 5 data scientists and machine learning engineers, ensuring their professional growth and the successful execution of team objectives.
• Design and deploy sophisticated machine learning models that address complex business challenges while maintaining high standards for code quality and model performance.
• Manage the project lifecycle by prioritizing initiatives that align with our business goals and coordinating with cross-functional partners to integrate models into our production environment.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a proven ability to lead engineering teams. We require the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in machine learning and data science, along with 2 or more years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical research and business strategy.

Preferred qualifications include experience in the gaming or entertainment industry, contributions to open-source AI projects, or experience fine-tuning large-scale foundation models.
