How will you create impact
As the Engineering Manager for DevEx at DealMaker, you will have a direct impact on the productivity, satisfaction, and overall success of our engineering organization. You will:
Build and Lead a World-Class DevEx Team: You will attract, hire, and lead a team of talented DevEx engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. You will mentor and guide your team, empowering them to grow their skills and deliver impactful results.
Shape the Vision and Strategy of DealMaker's Developer Platform: You will collaborate with engineering leadership and stakeholders across the organization to define a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for our internal developer platform.You will Design, architect, and implement technical solutions to address developer pain points and enhance the developer experience
Drive the Development and Delivery of High-Impact Solutions: You will work alongside your team as an individual contributor, designing, building, and scaling tools, systems, and processes that enhance the developer experience and improve engineering efficiency.
Champion Collaboration with DevSecOps: You will partner closely with the DevSecOps team to ensure seamless integration of DevEx initiatives with infrastructure management, security protocols, and compliance requirements.
Advocate for Developer Needs and Champion Continuous Improvement: You will be the voice of developers within DealMaker, advocating for their needs, gathering feedback on the development environment, and championing initiatives to continuously improve the developer experience.
What you should have
Proven Leadership Experience:
A track record of successfully leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance.
Technical Depth: Hands-on experience designing, building, and scaling software systems, ideally with exposure to DevEx-relevant technologies (e.g., CI/CD tools, infrastructure automation, cloud platforms).
Ruby on Rails Expertise: Practical knowledge of the Ruby on Rails framework is highly desirable, as it will enable you to effectively contribute technically and guide the team's work within our tech stack.
Strong Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Passion for Developer Experience: A genuine passion for improving the developer experience and a deep understanding of what makes for a productive and enjoyable development environment.
