The role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Developer Platform team. This is a full-time, hybrid position. We are looking for an experienced leader who can oversee our infrastructure, developer tooling, and internal workflows. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our product engineers can ship high-quality software with speed and confidence while maintaining the reliability our sophisticated enterprise customers expect.
Core responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and support a team of high-performing backend and infrastructure engineers to foster their professional growth.
- Drive strategic initiatives that enhance the scalability, performance, and overall reliability of the Pave application.
- Oversee critical vendor relationships, including our work with GCP and Datadog, while leading our business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of industry experience with a focus on cloud infrastructure and developer tooling, including a minimum of 2 years in a management capacity.
- Proven experience managing highly available infrastructure, with a strong preference for those familiar with GCP.
- Deep developer empathy and a genuine passion for optimizing developer workflows and tooling.
- A demonstrated ability to lead teams through the planning and execution of complex, multi-quarter technical projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with resilience in a fast-paced startup environment.
- A commitment to building an inclusive team culture that empowers individuals from all backgrounds.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is $195,500 to $264,500 USD. In addition to base salary, your total rewards package includes:
