Airbyte is the open-source standard for data movement, and we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. We enable data teams to move information from applications, APIs, and databases into data warehouses, lakes, and AI applications. With over 15,000 connectors built and 200,000 companies using our platform, we have raised $181M from top-tier investors to continue our mission of providing extensibility and control. In this role, you will lead our Database Sources team, which manages our most significant revenue-driving connectors, and help us define the future of data extraction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Database Sources team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation while mentoring engineers in their career growth.
- Drive the strategic vision and roadmap for database connectors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, high-volume enterprise solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership to pioneer new frameworks and patterns for connector development, including advanced Change Data Capture techniques.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including 3 or more years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong technical proficiency in Java and advanced SQL.
- Expert-level knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases, such as Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
- Proven experience with data warehousing extraction methodologies, database replication, and partitioning strategies.
- A track record of profiling and optimizing high-performance applications.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
