Engineering Manager - Data Engineering at Fubo

What is this role?

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Data Engineering team in a full-time, hybrid capacity. Based in New York City, this leadership position requires you to be in the office three days a week, specifically Tuesday through Thursday. You will be responsible for managing a high-performing global team, providing both technical and product leadership while partnering with stakeholders across the organization to build our next-generation data collection and distribution platform.

What will you do?

• Take full ownership of the long-term vision and success of our Data Engineering team while prioritizing projects to ensure high-quality, timely software delivery.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, including conducting design and code reviews, to ensure the health and performance of the systems we build.
• Lead the growth of the team by managing recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and the ongoing mentorship of our engineers.

What makes you a great fit?

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 8 years of experience as a software engineer and 3 years of experience leading medium to large engineering teams. You should hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field and possess the following qualifications:

• Proven expertise in building large-scale distributed systems using microservices or service-oriented architectures.
• A deep understanding of big data systems and technologies.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with our core tech stack, which includes Go, Scala, and Python, as well as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, PubSub, Memcache, BigTable, and BigQuery.
