Role at a glance

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Core Library team. This is a full-time, remote position available to candidates anywhere in the world. You will be responsible for guiding a team of 3 to 7 engineers as they build the cross-platform Rust library that serves as the backbone of our SDKs and cloud components. While you will have the chance to contribute hands-on today, this role is designed to evolve into a dedicated people management position as we continue to scale.

• Lead and empower a team of 3-7 engineers, focusing on their career development, technical success, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to build a clear roadmap and deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet our business objectives.
• Define and uphold high standards for engineering quality while mentoring your team and fostering a culture of trust and continuous improvement.

What you'll need

• At least 2 years of experience in people management, including hiring, performance reviews, and career coaching.
• At least 2 years of technical leadership experience, specifically in project scoping, architectural guidance, and driving engineering best practices.
• Fluency in Rust and a strong background in developing libraries while maintaining API backwards compatibility.
• Exceptional written communication skills, as we rely heavily on asynchronous documentation and design processes in our distributed environment.
• Proficiency in English.
