Engineering Manager Biometric Solutions at Veriff

At Veriff, we are establishing the foundational trust layer of the internet by making digital identity safer, faster, and more reliable through advanced biometric authentication. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Biometric Solutions team as we transition from one-time identity checks to continuous, real-time verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and mentor a high-performing engineering team focused on core biometric infrastructure, liveness detection, and authentication.
• Define the team's structure and operational processes to support scaling and consistent execution.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of biometric products, overseeing everything from model training to SDK integrations and user experience.
• Collaborate with product, machine learning, and legal teams to shape technical strategy, architecture, and go-to-market readiness.
• Drive initiatives to bring core biometric intellectual property in-house to reduce third-party dependencies.
• Ensure operational excellence and system robustness while defending against emerging threats like deepfakes and generative AI attacks.

Must-haves

• Strong technical leadership experience in machine learning, computer vision, or platform engineering.
• Proven ability to lead teams responsible for end-to-end product development, including backend systems and customer-facing SDKs.
• Experience working in high-growth environments with a focus on designing scalable systems.
• A strategic mindset capable of navigating ambiguity to keep teams focused and motivated.
• Comfort working within regulated domains and collaborating with compliance teams to ensure privacy-preserving experiences.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience leading teams specifically in biometrics, anti-spoofing, or user verification.
• Familiarity with ML development frameworks and production-grade embedding architectures.
• Experience integrating ML systems into real-time, on-device user experiences.
• Background in partnering with ML platform teams to optimize model deployment and performance monitoring.
