What is this role?

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Banking squad on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere. You will be joining a team responsible for creating a robust abstraction layer that allows us to deliver banking-as-a-service products across different geographies. This role requires a seasoned leader who understands the complexities of distributed transactions and is committed to maintaining high standards of engineering excellence.

What will you do?

• Build and develop a high-performing team by conducting regular one-on-one sessions, providing actionable feedback, and fostering a culture of professional growth.
• Ensure the team consistently follows best practices, including rigorous code reviews, maintaining high test coverage, and prioritizing system performance, security, and resilience.
• Collaborate with your squad to identify technical challenges, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor the operational health of the services we own.

What makes you a great fit?

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in team leadership and process development. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess the following qualifications:

• Strong hands-on technical proficiency with Java or Golang.
• Solid experience working with Relational Databases and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, design patterns like Saga, and high-throughput service architecture.
• Familiarity with SRE and DevOps principles to ensure our systems remain stable and scalable.
• Excellent communication skills in English, allowing you to collaborate effectively across our global team.
