Engineering Manager Backend at Current

Our engineering team operates a proprietary banking core on Google Cloud Kubernetes Engine, utilizing a robust stack that includes Java, Scala, MongoDB, Spanner, and various Google Cloud services to manage millions of daily transactions.

• Provide leadership for an engineering team, taking responsibility for both the professional growth of your team members and the successful delivery of features.
• Own the end-to-end roadmap for critical business initiatives, guiding projects from initial product discovery through system design to final launch.
• Apply your technical expertise to solve complex systems engineering challenges and drive the development of data-intensive applications.
• Scale your team effectively while managing a complex project roadmap.
• Uphold a strong culture of rigorous code and architecture reviews.
• Work on cutting-edge technical domains, including real-time transaction decisioning, stream processing, and machine learning.
• Elevate our internal standards for engineering excellence by continuously improving our testing, monitoring, and architectural practices.
• Contribute to the development of new financial systems that help our users build wealth.

Requirements

• Professional experience in a management role leading a team of software engineers.
• Extensive background in professional backend development.
• Proven production experience working with a JVM-based language.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining cloud-hosted services.
• Strong proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL database systems.
• A solid understanding of concurrency and multi-threading concepts.
• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluency in English.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $275,000. Final compensation is determined based on your individual experience, skills, and qualifications as assessed during our interview process. In addition to base salary, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes:
